Sorry about the registration code mix-up. We've just released the latest build of the v8 beta, and you should be getting an email with an updated rego code attached.

Same problem for me, downloaded v8 beta on August 23,2007 and installed on August 28, 2007.

Email Manager : Error sending HTML email

For some reason, when the email manager tries to use one of our email templates to notify the user of their job being logged, the email does not get sent and we get the following error in the email manager log:

Send email failed at position 20, HTML encoding was unable to be added to the email message

This has only started happening recently, we're unaware of any changes that would of caused this. If we change the template to be Plain Text, the email sends fine.

The mail profile is set up correctly, the email manager can poll the mailbox fine, and I'm able to send/recieve HTML emails through outlook.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

It would be really usefull if the email manager could accept updates for open jobs from the site email address/es for any clients of that site - I realise we could just update the client email address to be that of the site contact but with some 800 sites and 35,000 clients (continually moving target) maintaining this is not easy. By the same token alot of our work requires that the site contact is updated, again we can manually add this as an 'other' email contact but if this was a tick box option our templates could be configured to email site contact further automating the process.

This is just what we are looking for as well, it would really help with workflow for various regular tasks we have that require multiple departments to action their part before another can be actioned - while this can be done manually it is very time consuming. Being able to configure the template once would make this so much easier.

Good news!

SQL Server 2008 now has a release date....and it's next year. Better start planning for upgrades now!

From a developers perspective, it's got some good features, and we'll be having a good look at it when it's released.

Using HelpMaster Pro : Sending email from the Action screen

Glad I could help.

Actually, we use this feature sometimes to send bulk email to many clients.

You can log a job, link a whole bunch of clients to it, then use the Action screen with the "All clients" checked in the email section. If you use an Email Template that contains system tags (<> etc), you're effectively setting up a mail-merge system that can be used to send personalized, context senstive information....and it's all logged via the Action log.

Where it gets really interesting is when you start creating Priority Manager schedule for such a job and get recurring events going off.

Have fun experimenting, but just be wary of that Priority Manager - it can send a lot of email in a lot of directions very quickly ;-)

I'll update the help file so that it explains each of these checkboxes in more detail.
